No Matter Where We Are From, We Are All the Same!

No matter where in the world you may come from, one thing is for certain, "We are all the same". This is a profound fact of life! people have a confident relation to others colse to the globe, often not descriptive to the naked eye. That is, we don't often see it because, there is a tendency to focus on other characteristics such as: Race, Gender, Ethnic background, Geographical location, or group make-up. Have you ever wondered why upon meeting someone, it felt like you had known them your whole life? What about when you watch the evening news and hear how other families are struggling with poverty, a tragedy, or experienced death from a natural disaster and once you heard about it, you immediately begin to feel sadness, empathy, anger, or start to cry?

If we are so different, then how is this possible? How did the events of September 11th, the Beltway Sniper Attacks, Hurricane Katrina, the London Terrorist Attacks, or Earthquakes in Indonesia corollary you from your living room? India is a land of agriculture. This is what we read in our geography books when we were children and this is what we say now, grown ups we are. Not that we have not progressed industrially in these forty years after independence. Form a nation that could not produce 'nuts and bolts' we have emerged out as a nation that can make and open its own satellites. But primarily we remain agriculturists. Seventy five ration of the population are connected with agriculture one way or other. And in terms of production we have some distinctions to be proud of. We are world's number one in the production of sugarcane and number two in rice. We are only next to China in tea and to Egypt in cotton. And again in groundnuts, we are number one.

But inside of so many firsts and second we are no where near self sufficiency in food. To feed the millions of our poor, who do not eat even two square meals a day, we import year after year, wheat from America, rice from Burma, sugar from Indonesia and cotton from Egypt. One surmise that is beyond dispute is its multiplying mouths, though there are others that are not so obvious. Because of unscientific methods of preservation and bad warehouse conditions millions of tons of food stuffs are washed out in floods, if not spoiled by tube of time.

Second, find a good Tesol policy to take. There are many ready and they range in cost from 0 to 00. What is the difference? The higher priced courses are ordinarily offered in universities and take longer to complete. What you need to satisfy the requirements of many schools (and local immigration departments) is a policy that is 100-120 hours. This is about one-term. Some courses can be completed in as dinky as a week. An extra advantage is a policy that offers transferable toll that you can then apply to a degree if you wish. Once you start teaching, you may like to consider completing that missing degree by length learning. Many colleges and universities offer degree-completion programs. Depending on your experience, you could complete a Ba in as dinky as a year. This is worth considering because if you do have a degree, you will find more opportunities open up to you.

By the way, you will see many acronyms for Esl teacher-training courses: Tesol, Tesl, Tefl, Celta, Teal, Teyl and Tefla are some. I advise Tesol (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages). It is recognized colse to the world and gives you a good basic training in Esl teaching methodologies. Celta is a British program (Certificate in English Language Teaching to Adults). My preference is Tesol because it trains you in methods that work for all ages whereas Celta focuses on adults. New teachers will ordinarily find themselves teaching in a quarterly school and so should have a good grounding in methods, techniques and strategies for teaching young and school-aged children.

If you are serious about teaching overseas, even if you don't have a degree, start by earning a Tesol certificate, studying about countries in which you have an interest and then place your resume on as many Esl trainer recruiting sites as you can find. Before you know it, job offers should soon start to appear in your e-mail.
